About Your Instructor
My name's Ashley Simpson I just completed my fourth year at Ryerson University in the Child and Youth Care Program, minoring in psychology. Throughout my four years at Ryerson I developed a passion for mental health. This led me to start my own organization called Strive Movement. I run workshops for youth teaching them how to take care of their mental, physical and emotional health. A huge reason why I am so passionate about mental health is due to my own struggles with anxiety, panic attacks and depression. I struggled with my mental health from a young age of 7 years old and I struggled with it, the most, in my adolescent years. I have done a lot of work to overcome these challenges, where now I feel mentally healthy, I am able to love myself, my life and my mental health. Thus I feel called to share everything I've learned to overcome these challenges with adolescents who may be going through similar experiences. I am so excited to be a part of the community at Inventive Kidz and I can't wait to do my part in supporting you and your adolescents.
